1. Define your goal

As with any kind of plan, the end in mind must be clear. It is important to identify and determine the goal. It can either be a short term or a long term one. You must determine the end result you want to achieve. It is your goal, you own the goal, you take ownership of your end in mind. It is important to establish the goals because this would determine the actions you need to take on your journey to achieve success.

2. Know your strength and weakness

Recognising yourself is crucial to your success. Knowing your strengths allows you to play to your strengths, taking on projects, stepping forward to lead in areas where you are the strongest. There is no need to hide your weakness. Find a team where your members can complement where you are weak. Find opportunities to learn and level up your weakness. Your capacity is limited only by the shortest plank of your barrel.

3. Set SMART goals

Goals that are not S.M.A.R.T are just dreams. Goals that are S.M.A.R.T are visions that could be achieved. Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound goals are essential in the journey to achieve success. Spend 15 minutes to write out 3 goals that can bring you improvements in classroom, workplace or life. Decide on the completion date and action steps that are required to bing you there. Identify any obstacles and plan your way to overcome them.

4. Stay healthy

Health is the greatest asset that you can control. You own your brain, you own your health. Take care of yourself, set a routine sleeping and waking time. Ensure your body gets ample rest. Plan for exercise to maintain your physical fitness and mental wellness. Do not skip meals, have a proper meal to provide yourself with the energy to perform at your best. Do not binge but ensure you eat enough. Diet just need to be balanced. A well treated stomach and a well rested mind and body would ensure you can battle through any obstacles life throws at you.

5. Celebrate success

Goals can be short term or long term. It is important to reward yourself can celebrate success whenever a milestone goal is achieved. Accumulate the small successes, boost your morale and strive on. Treat yourself to a break, ice cream, movie or dazing at the scenery. Reward yourself at every stage of success, this provides the mental boost to go on and take down the ultimate goal of achieving success.
